Township Ordinances
No person shall own, harbor, or keep any dog that by loud or frequent barking, yelping or howling shall cause serious annoyance to the residents of the surrounding neighborhood or the persons passing along the streets or highways. For a full reading please refer to Section 18-36.
It shall be unlawful for any person within the township to keep, possess or harbor more than three domesticated animals. For a full reading please refer to Section 18-7.
No dog shall be suffered to run at large in the township and each dog shall be kept under and within the limits of the owner's premises; provided, however, that if such dog is removed from the owners premises it shall be securely held upon a leash of leather or other durable material of a length not to exceed six feet and in the custody of a responsible person, or the dog shall be securely held in a shipping receptacle or in a closed motor vehicle. Animal Control is provided to Redford Township residents by Redford Township. We have one full-time animal control officer. The officer responds to calls for service involving domestic animals.
Redford Township Animal Control does not remove animal carcasses from the roadway. If you would like to report an animal that needs to be removed, contact Wayne County Road Commission Dead Animal Removal at (734) 753-4477.
