Community Center Programming

Free Tutoring/Homework Help:
Redford Township Youth Services offers free homework help throughout the school year to Redford Residents in grades 1st-8th. Sign ups run three times a year October, January and March. All work must be provided by parent/guardian for the program to reinforce what is currently being taught in the classroom.

  • Sessions are 6-7 weeks in length, 1 hour, 1 day a week.
  • Tutors are High School students with a 3.0 GPA or by teacher recommendation.
  • There is a $20 cash deposit required to sign up students, the deposit will be returned if the program is completed successfully.
  • Sign up runs 3:30-7:30pm only during designated dates.
  • Spaces are limited.

Community Center Drop in After School Program:
Parents are you looking for a place for your child to attend after school? Redford Township offers a free drop in program (*Material fee may apply) for Redford Residents ages 7-15 years of age in the Redford Community Center. The program is open M-F during the school year from 3:30-7:30pm. Youth have the opportunity to participate in daily activities such as pool, ping pong, video games, arts and crafts, theme/Holiday parties and much more. All youth participating must have a signed program form on file before participating. *Please note, youth ages 5& 6 may participate in daily activities if a parent or guardian are in the building. All transportation to and from the center must be arranged by parent/guardian. Summer Hours: Mid June-September 4-6pm

Community Center Teen Lounge:
Students ages 13-17 are you looking for a place to hang out with friends? Well come on in to the Redford Community Center and hang out in our teen lounge. Play a game of pool, watch your favorite TV show, play video games or just listen to music. All youth must have a signed program form on file before participating.
Summer Hours: Mid June-September 4-6pm

Redford Township Youth Commission:
Are you a high school student and would like to get more involved in your community? The Redford Youth Commission accepts applications beginning August-September of each year. Work side by side with your local government officials and help plan fun activities for teens in our community. This is a great way to help out your community and have fun! Want to share a concern or idea- come to our monthly meetings.

Youth Assistance Programs:
Redford Township works with Growthworks Inc. to provide may at-risk programs within our community. From Youth Assistance Services to Chemical Dependency programs, this is a great resource for both parents and youth. For more information or to schedule an intake please call: 734-495-1722.

BrightStars: "Where parents and children shine together!"

Redford Township and Brigtstars Early Learning Center partner to provide Free enrichment play groups for parents and young children ages 0-5. Refreshments are served at each group and supplies are provided for all programs.

Early Childhood Music and Movement:
Thursdays 6:30-7:30pm Come nurture a love of music in your little Brightstar! Come sing, move, play instruments, and create with Miss Tandy for Pyjammin' Time! There must be at least 1 adult for each child.

Early Childhood Music and Movement for Babies:
Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm Come nurture a love of music in your littlest Brightstar! You and your baby will gently move, dance and play with Miss Tandy. There must be at least 1 adult for each child.

Nature Lovers Group: Tuesdays 12:30-2pm
