Goals for Township (What would you like to accomplish): My goal as Township Supervisor is to provide leadership that you can count on and be proud of. For those of us that you have placed your trust in, we must be held to the highest ethical standards in all that we do.
With support and the input of residents, neighborhood associations, business groups, and other governmental partnerships, we will make the decisions that have positive impact on our township. As Supervisor, I will continue to ask the tough questions and offer solid solutions for programs and services that meet the needs of our residential and business communities. Those programs and services will be determined and offered after thoughtful planning which has been openly communicated, funding is secured and with the approval of the township board members and other representatives of the community. Given the economic situation of the country as a whole it is critically important to develop fair and balanced solutions—both for our current challenges and for those that await us in the future.
Short term goals with lasting impact include but are not limited to:
- Repair and redesign of Seven Mile Road
- Completion of several drainage and sewer projects.
- Full implementation Partnership for Building a Better Redford Team
- Fully funded community events that do not have a drag on the general fund and yet have positive impact on our residents.
- Maintain balanced budgets with sensitivity to the declining revenue.
- Improve solid waste pick-up, disposal services and fees.
Length of Township Residency: I have lived in the township for 45 + years.
Hobbies: All things Redford Township and especially sitting in the sun listening to live music, anything to do with water, gardening, reading, cooking, sewing, singing and traveling
Favorite Political Leader or Role Model: My parents and siblings are my role models. While we certainly weren’t The Cleavers, I am fortunate to have learned life lessons that are the base of sound decisions and choices. As the daughter of a Marine and Cass Tech graduate - turned -cashier, I learned that discipline is necessary for growth and instruction and that money doesn’t replace sweat equity.
