Remember taxes can also be paid through the mail, or dropped off at the township's drop box (near the parking lot of the township building). Deferments

When dealing with deferments, please view the deferment application.pdf file located on the middle right of this website under the taxes icon to identify if you qualify for a tax deferment. Deferment applications must be brought into the tax office here at the township and stamped "deferment", along with your tax bill. The last day for deferments is September 14, 2011 for summer 2011 taxes. The deferment applications are kept at our office for when you return to pay the tax bill at a later date. Deferments for winter 2011 taxes are due February 14, 2012. Extension of the due date to the end of February for deferred taxes will not be allowed

You may feel free to call the tax office at 313-387-2742 if you have any questions. The procedures to defer your winter 2011 taxes are different. You must submit a completed 1010 Michigan State Income Tax Homestead Property Tax Credit form to this office by February 14, 2012, showing that you will receive a refund, and also meet the summer deferment criteria.

Partial Payments

Summer 2011 taxes are due on September 14, 2011, however you have the ability to partially pay your tax bill until this date. This means that if you bring in your tax bill, we at the tax office will accept as much money as you have at your visit to put against what you owe. This can be done multiple times, as we keep a log of your partial payments. When you finally pay off the remaining balance of your taxes we will provide you with your tax stub with "PAID" stamped on it and the stub will be validated. The FULL amount is still due by September 14, 2011.
