Curbside household trash and recycling collection services are provided for the Township through a contract with a private waste hauler, Republic Waste Services. Collection is performed on different days of the week for different areas. Click here to view the Collection Schedule Map. Please make sure that your household trash is placed at the road by 6:30 am on the day of your collection but no earlier than 6:00 pm the night before. Trash must be in a watertight trash can (with lid & handles) or in a tied trash bag. Cans shall not exceed a 36 gallon capacity nor weigh more than 45 pounds when filled. Do not put trash in cardboard boxes. All cans and recycling bins must be set adjacent to the street, next to the driveway and must be removed from the curb by evening of the collection day.
Items that Republic Waste will not pick up as part of household trash include pesticides, "liquid" paints, gasoline, oil, gas cans, disposable LP gas tanks, cement, rocks, bricks, infectious hospital waste, liquid solvents, glue, car batteries, automotive parts and construction debris of any type. Click here to view a "Resource Recovery Guide" published by Wayne County Public Services with information on ways to dispose of or recycle some of these unacceptable items.
Holiday Collection Schedule: Residents should be aware that collection will not be made on the legal holidays noted below only when they occur on a weekday. When one of these holidays occurs on a weekday collection for the remaining days of that week only will be delayed one day, which means collection for Friday areas will be made on Saturday.

Redford Township encourages all of its residents to recycle and thereby reduce the volume of trash that goes into landfills and hold costs down. Click here to view what types of items are acceptable for trash collection & recycling. Weekly recycling collection is the same day that your regular household trash is picked up.
Do not place the following items in with your household waste, as they are not acceptable: chemicals, auto parts or tires, building materials, contractor's debris, concrete, bricks, dirt, sod, waste oil or non-latex paint. Latex paint is allowed to be placed in with your household trash only if it is completely dried out.
