Public Services

All homes were provided with blue recycle bins when the recycling program began. If you are new to Redford and don't have a recycle bin or are in need of a replacement bin, you can purchase one for a small fee of $10 at the Leo Snage Public Services Building at 12200 Beech Daly (between Plymouth and Schoolcraft), Monday thru Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. You may purchase more than one bin if you would like. Acceptable recyclable items include the following:

  • Cardboard flattened (no larger than 2' x 2'), cut, tied & placed inside or under your bin
  • Magazines, newspapers, catalogs, phone books
  • Plastic jugs and bottles marked with a #1 or #2 only - must be crushed
  • Glass bottles and jars that have been rinsed (clear, brown, green & blue only). Labels can be left on but they will not take drinking glasses, light bulbs, window glass, mirrors or broken glass.
  • Metal - cans, pie tins, metal lids, aluminum trays and other small metal items are accepted
