Public Services

An annual household hazardous waste collection day is held by Redford Township usually in the month of September for items such as lawn and garden chemicals, cleaning products, antifreeze, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks and electronics. Information about the Township's event will be advertised in local newspapers, on the Township cable station 8, and on the Township's website.

Note that on occasions, such as in March of 2010, Wayne County Public Services has hosted a collection day at our site and the Township therefore does not hold another one that same year. Redford residents are also eligible to attend any of the several Wayne County sponsored collection days that are held each year by showing proof that they are Wayne County residents. For additional information about County collection dates you can contact the Wayne County Resource Recovery Coordinator at (734) 326-3936. Click here to view a "Resource Recovery Guide" published by Wayne County Public Services with information on ways to dispose of or recycle various items.
