Redford Township Local History Archive Now at the District Library
The Redford Township Local History Archives is an ongoing project started by the Redford Township District Library to preserve, digitize and share local historical materials. This digitization project provides a searchable archive database that can be used by anyone in the world. The Redford Observer is the local Redford Township newspaper which is published on Thursdays and Sundays. The library currently has Redford Observer newspapers from 1955 to 1999 on microfiche available at the library. Much of the print collection from 2000 to 2008 is now available in digital format. Each year we will be having the most current year digitized and added to the collection, in addition to converting a portion of older microfiche versions retrospectively until those are complete. Missing Issues: Sadly, we have several issues that are missing entirely. If you have some old Observers around your home, please check the list of needed dates. This Local History Archives is an ongoing project, preserving the history of the Township. We wish to thank the Redford Observer for their permission to have this historical collection digitized and made available to you.
