
Who We Are
Mission of Redford Interfaith Relief: Promoting the dignity of all people through faith-based support by assisting and empowering those in need. Christ called his disciples to feed the hungry, clothe the naked and shelter the homeless. Redford Interfaith Relief (R.I.R.) is a community effort of all faiths to heed Our Lord's call.
Redford Interfaith Relief is a coalition of member churches with individuals and organizations to end hunger and poverty in the Redford Community. Individuals and families in need are referred by their neighborhood member church and are provided assistance through the following programs: the Client Choice Emergency Food Pantry, Clothing Closet and TEFAP (The Emergency Food Program - government commodities).
How We Can Help
Emergency Food & Clothing
Food and clothing, as well as specific assistance for emergencies are available to Redford residents. To apply, first visit the nearest member church for a referral. Bring all proof of: all income (including DHS), DL or ID, SS # and children's birth certificates.
TEFAP (The Emergency Food Assistance Program) - Government Commodities
Broader, monthly food assistance is available for Redford residents meeting income guidelines. To apply, please bring proof of: all income (including DHS), DL or ID, SS # and children's birth certificates. New applications are accepted 1st Tuesday every month 10am - noon, TEFAP food is distributed by appointment only later that month.
Senior Liquid Nutrition
Redford seniors ages 60+ can obtain Ensure liquid nutrition by having their doctor place an order through Wayne Count Senior Services. Orders can be picked up the second Tuesday of every month from 10:00am - 1:30pm.
