If you would like to have your name placed on the permanent absentee ballot list, please contact the Clerk's Office. Being on the Absentee Ballot List will generate an application to be sent to you automatically 45 days prior to an election. You must fill out the absentee ballot application and return it in order for a ballot to be sent.
You may also walk-in to the Clerk’s Office and fill out an absentee ballot application and a ballot will be given, with proper identification. A voter may only receive his/her ballot.
On November 6th, 2018 the passing of Proposal 18-3; A proposal to authorize automatic and Election Day voter registration, no-reason absentee voting, and straight ticket voting; and add current legal requirements for military and overseas voting and post-election audits to the Michigan Constitution
This proposed constitutional amendment would allow a United States citizen who is qualified to vote in Michigan to:
- Obtain an absent voter ballot without providing a reason.
