
The Finance Department is responsible for maintaining effective management of the township's financial resources. The Finance Director oversees a staff of 4 people to accomplish daily operations of accounting, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and benefits administration including the supervision of their respective information systems.
An Annual Budget Report is prepared for all funds expended by the township to present a picture of township government operations and set the appropriations for the fiscal year. Budget study sessions are open to the public providing citizens an opportunity to observe the deliberation process. A public hearing with the Township Board of Trustees provides citizens an opportunity to comment on the annual budget prior to its approval.
The Finance Department is responsible for the preparation of the Township Financial Statements. With the dedicated efforts of the departmental staff, monthly reports are prepared and made available to the Board of Trustees and key administrators. The Finance Department is also responsible for the annual fiscal year end financial statements that are audited by the independent audit firm of Plante and Moran CPA's.
