To celebrate National Library Week, April 13-19, the Redford Township District Library, 25320 West Six Mile Road, 313-531-5960, will be sponsoring a month long book mark contest. Pick up a blank form at the library, or make
your own approximately 8? x 2 ½?, decorate it using your own imagination and
great ideas; the theme need not be
about reading. Drop off the completed
bookmark at the library by Wednesday, April 30, 8 p.m.
The winning design will receive a prize selected just for him/her.
Ages 3-11 are invited to join the fun!
For your convenience, 2 book drops are open 24 hours daily. They are located along the wall beside the main entrance to the library. 1 book drop is strictly for AV materials [videos, DVD's, books on tape, music cds, etc.
The library may occasionally close due to unforeseen problems and weather conditions. When applicable, the library will be guided by Redford Township public schools closing. Information regarding those two school districts (Redford Union School District and South Redford School District) may be obtained by listening to WWJ radio 950 a.m. or by accessing www.schoolclosed.com website.
The library offers a wide
variety of programs and services including a quality selection of books,
magazines, books on tape, downloadable audio, music CDs, DVD's and a
Children's area.
Computers are another heavily used learning and research tool at the
library. There are computers with internet and word processing
capability in both the Adult area and the Children's area.
